“gaysgaze” (2023)
This work deals with the portrayal of homosexual men in history, in the media and in society today and how norms and stereotypes arise from this. I got to know various men via queer dating platforms staged them in scenes reminiscent of old paintings from the Renaissance, showing a critique of the ever-spreading stereotypes and focusing on the representation of diversity that exists within such a special community.

The work was created as part of the group exhibition “Gender + Photography” in Bielefeld, Germany which opened in December 2023.
